I offer a limited range of services in addition to making new instruments. If you require any work done on your violin, make an appointment at which you will receive a free, no obligation assessment. For more extensive repairs and restorations, I am happy to recommend colleagues specialising in this work.

I have a particular interest in improving small, student grade instruments. A child learning the violin is more likely to enjoy it, and therefore make progress, if their violin is comfortable to play. Many cheaper violins are badly set up, with stings at the wrong height. Many luthiers consider working on such instruments uneconomical. I see it as an investment in the future. A child who enjoys learngin the violin, even on a cheap, factory made instrument, may eventually want a fine, handmade instrument, and, even if they don't, they deserve to enjoy playing as a child.
